Being friendly to the environment is something I think we’re all mindful of in our day to day life. However, if I were planning my wedding all over again it’s not something that would immediately spring to mind. There are so many other things to worry about; the closest I would get to thinking about nature would be choosing my flowers and photo shoot locations! So I was extremely interested to read “Plenty’s guide to a gorgeous green wedding”.
They have come up with an eco-friendly list of ideas for every aspect of your wedding, from invitations to attire to rings they have it covered. I was particularly excited to read that the article was “inspired by fall’s ascent as the ‘New Wedding Season’”.
Here are some of the things they suggested for when you buy wedding flowers:
“Choosing seasonal, local flowers will save you time and money and will showcase the natural beauty of your wedding location. Fruit and greenery make excellent centerpieces and can add a festive air to a seasonal wedding (think pumpkins and apples in autumn, strawberries or tomatoes in summer).”
They also suggested sourcing fair trade and pesticide free flowers and have provided links to some places that you can start.
