As a bride, deciding to create your own wedding flowers can seem like a daunting path to take. Flicking through bridal magazines you are shown image after image of stunning, professionally designed arrangements that seem all but impossible to create yourself. Most of these arrangements have a colossal price tag too - imported flowers, huge numbers of blooms and hours spent by professionals making them look just so. As much as we’d love to have them, these arrangements are simply out of most brides’ budgets.
It is possible to create your own beautiful wedding flowers, despite what the mags would have you believe. I’ve written about it before here. All it takes is some research, practice and preparation. With the right information, you’ll have beautiful flowers and you’ll save hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in the process. I’m sure you could find somewhere better for that money to go!
For anyone considering DIY floral arrangements “Create Your Own Wedding Flowers“ is a very thorough resource. It covers your research and gives you all the information you need to prepare. The practice part is up to you - and I (and the authors) strongly recommend that you do practice.
“Create Your Own Wedding Flowers“ is written by Cindy Lymbery and Paul Ajao, florists themselves with many years experience in preparing wedding flowers. It is 86 pages of step-by-step, very clear instructions AND photographs that show exactly how to create a selection of the most popular wedding bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. It also includes a resource list for each project, so you know exactly what you need to recreate your chosen arrangement.
The arrangements taught in “Create Your Own Wedding Flowers“ include:
- calla lily arm bouquet
- rose posy
- cascade bouquet
- short and tall floral centerpieces
- rose boutonniere
- orchid boutonniere
The arrangements included have been specifically chosen because they are simple to create, yet are classically beautiful. This is not the place to be looking if you are after complex designs, which quite honestly probably aren’t in the scope of the DIYer anyhow.
Again I’ll emphasise that it is so important to practice your arrangements before your wedding. While the skills and arrangements are easily learnt, the morning of your wedding is not the time to be learning! Once you have the skills mastered you may even feel comfortable substituting different flowers or creating your own color schemes.
At $15.95, this is an incredibly affordable resource. At the moment there is a bonus “Essential Wedding Tips” included with any purchase. This, in addition with an 8 week, money back guarantee AND 3 months of free email support from the authors makes it no brainer, really
If you’re ready to put your own personal stamp on your wedding and save hundreds of dollars in the process click here to get started with “Create Your Own Wedding Flowers”. You could be creating beautiful arrangements by tomorrow!
