Fall Wedding Flowers

August 11th by admin

Fall is a glorious time of the year. The days are clear and fresh, nature is putting on a magnificent, colorful show and there is an abundance of fall wedding flowers to choose from.

Of course, as with all seasons there are traditional favorites - roses, peonies, orchids. However, fall also offers the opportunity to choose flowers of the season in traditional colors or marvelous palettes of burnt oranges, dark burgundies, terracottas and bright yellows.

Your choice of wedding flowers will enable you to not only create a fabulous vision on your special day, but a magnificent sensory memory for you and your guests. Luscious scents, stunning colors and beautiful textures.

Choosing your wedding flowers is an extremely important part of wedding planning and one that offers so many choices. Iris, amaryllis, snowdrops, montbretia, aster, chrysanthemum… In fact, with so many choices it can be a little confusing. Not only is the color of your flowers important, decisions also need to be made regarding where you will use flowers, which flowers to use, whether to have fresh, dried or silk and what arrangements to use.

An excellent guide for choosing fall wedding flowers and arrangements is Bouquets: A year of flowers for the Bride. It has a number of suggestions for each season and very detailed directions to “do-it-yourself”. Alternatively it is a great inspiration and the fabulous photos will help you explain exactly what you want to your florist. Suggestions range from simple to elaborate designs and the pictures are just superb.

This is a guide that will take the stress out of choosing your fall wedding flowers (and one less thing to stress about is great, right?) and I really recommend it to anyone planning a fall wedding.
